Banana Tissue Culture

Grand Naine: Dessert Banana with sweet taste. Its fruit size is 10-12 inches and fruit color is solid green when young, turning to pale green when ripened. Grand Naine can yield 30-35 kgs per plant.

Sona: The Sona variety of Banana has a strong pseudostem so propping is not required for the bunch and it yields better than Grand Naine! The longer and thicker fruit fetches higher price than Grand Naine.

Williams:This tall cavendish gives excellent yield even in poor soil and doesn't require support for the bunch.

Tindora (Coccina indica)

Ivy Gourd Tissue Culture

Sun Agrigenetics is proud to be the first company in the world to develop the micro propagation protocol and commercialize tissue culture of cucurbit vegetables.

Our greatest find in our 10-year history is the commercial production of a cultivar of Coccinia indica, popularly known as Tindora, Tondali, Ghiloda or Gentleman's Toes or Ivy gourd. Apart from its use as a vegetable, it is gaining fresh interest due to the medicinal properties in lowering of blood sugar, and is used as a nutraceutical in treatment of diabetes melitus.

So far, Tindora was cultivated traditionally through the age-old asexual cuttings, often infected by diseases such as thrips and aphids, and therefore gave low yields to farmers who are mostly having small land and limited resources. Micro-propagated Tindora offer clean disease free planting material thereby giving as much as 10 times higher yield than traditional plants.

Farmers, commercial growers and gardening enthusiasts can benefit from growing Tindora, the little known vegetable, as it is fast growing, requires low maintenance and produces nutritious green vegetable round the year. Tindora is an ideal crop to cultivate in extreme weather conditions in greenhouse.

Parval (Tricosanthes diocia)

Pointed Gourd Tissue Culture

Natural Life Sciences was the first to commercially introduce tissue culture Pointed Gourd or Parval in India, which is a commonly consumed cucurbit vegetable in many South Asian Countries.

Parval, or the pointed gourd, has been proven to have very good antioxidant properties. This perennial vine produces fruit that contains carbohydrates, vitamin A, vitamin C and trace elements magnesium, potassium, sulphur, chlorine and copper, which are essential micronutrients for our bodies.

Micro-propagated Parval is a tropical vine which can be planted almost all year round, with higher yield than traditional plants and uniform, large fruit size. There are separate male and female plants in this species, which are usually grown together in 1:9 ratio.

Parval will do well in temperate regions. Plants can be cut back to the ground level before frost and roots should be covered with straw to safeguard from cold during winter. Vines will readily sprout from roots in spring when the average soil temperature reaches above 12.5°C again. It will work well in USDA hardiness zone 8-10.

Pineapple (Ananas comosus)

Tissue cultured plantlets are the most suitable planting material in pineapple cultivation because they are not contaminated with common pathogens and resistant to mealy bugs, nematodes, wilt disease, heart and root rot. Our pineapple plants have several advantages:

  • Uniform yield, and even, uniform fruit weighing 1.3 to 2 kgs
  • Spineless darker green leaves, and fast growth
  • Pulp is sweeter and more complex than most market varieties such as Queen, and has less fiber
  • Contains four times more vitamin C than regular varieties but less has less acidity
  • Ripens evenly and naturally
  • MD2 pineapple has a long shelf life of 30 days after harvest as against 21 days for the other varieties and able to survive in cold storage for up to 2 weeks

Growing Pineapple can be very profitable ! 1 acre can produce about 18-20 metric ton of Pineapple and the average harvest time of this crop is around 14 - 15 month.

Lemon (Citrus aurantifolia swingle)

Potato (Solanum tuberosum)

We produce minitubers from certified planting material of CPRI (Central Potato Research Institute) and supply nuclear seed tubers for production of breeder seeds.

Tissue culture raised plants are grown in insect proofed net houses under strict environmental controls and produce what is known as "minitubers". Such tubers are multiplied in field under cold conditions, ensuring freedom from aphids which bring about bacterial disease, the most common cause of potato crop failure.

Our seed potatoes give 20-30% higher yield than conventional plantations, are free from disease and fetch a premium price in the market for uniform, evenly shaped potatoes. We offer: Lavkar, Pukhraj, Badshah, Lady Rosento and Chipsona.

Natural Life Sciences is the company in India to supply tissue culture Fig (Anjeer).

Fig is an important tree, because degraded forest land can be used for its cultivation, and its nutritious fruit solves problem of malnutrition and deficiencies in children and adults.Figs have the highest amount of calcium of any fruit, and 100g (3.5 oz) of dried figs contain 16% of the daily recommended amount of calcium needed for an adult. They are also rich in other nutrients, as well as fiber. Just 3 Figs give enough fiber needed for an adult's daily diet .

Fig can also be considered a good forestry product, as it provides all round year nutrition to wild animals, food and shelter for birds and generates employment among locals and tribal people. Fig trees are being given focus used as minor trees in forests all over the world for these and soil conservation measures as well.
